Adoration
By Vicki Herout

Have you ever considered signing up to spend an Hour of Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament each week only to find yourself wondering, "How can I ever keep the commitment?", or "What would I do there anyway?", or "Would it really make that big a difference in my life?" If these have ever been your thoughts, you are probably in the majority.

People have often asked me what I "get" out of doing a Holy Hour each week. The benefits are so many and often so intangible they can be hard to describe. I think of the many times when some problem was weighing on my mind. My Holy Hour became an Hour of Light as the Lord showed me the answer to the problem. I think of the times when some hurt or trial or trouble had entered my life. My Holy Hour became an Hour of Comfort from the Lord. I think of the too-many times when I was feeling upset with someone or something. My Holy Hour became an Hour of Attitude Adjustment with the Lord's guidance. Or the many times when I simply sought to know and love the Lord more deeply. My Holy Hour became an Hour of Love as the Lord let me know that it is He who loves first - I have simply to follow in His footsteps.

An Hour of Adoration before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament is a great gift - a priceless treasure that the Lord offers to each of us - a kind of a "divine lay-away" gift that we have only to come and collect.

Here at the Chapel of the Word Incarnate located at the studios of Spirit 102.7 FM, a program of Adoration/Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in the Chapel of the Word Incarnate has started. Hours available for sign-up are Tuesdays 9 - 10 a.m., Wednesdays 10 a.m. - Noon, or Thursdays 10 am - Noon.

We are very blessed to have the Presence of Jesus Christ here and acknowledge that He is the True Power that runs this station. Would you be willing to sign up for an hour with the Lord? Would you be willing to become a Prayer Apostolate by praying for the mission of the station?

If so, call Vicki Herout at 330-1464 with your preferred day and hour.
